About the author
Douglas Holleley was born in Sydney, Australia. He gained a Bachelor of Arts Degree at Macquarie University, Sydney and subsequently studied photography at the Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester, NewYork, where he graduated with a Master of Fine Arts Degree.
He has exhibited widely in the USA, Australia and Europe. His books and photographs are represented in many collections including, the International Museum of Photography at the George Eastman House, Rochester, N.Y, the Center for Creative Photography in Tucson, Arizona, the Johnson Museum of Art, Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y, the Cary Graphic Arts Collection, RIT, Rochester, N.Y, the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra and the Australian National Library, Canberra.
In 1997 he was awarded a Ph.D. at the University of Sydney. The title of his thesis is Luna Park, the Image of a Funfair. This thesis examines a major amusement park in Sydney Australia through the medium of photography. He has worked with Apple computers since 1992.
He became a permanent resident of the USA in October 1997 and now lives . and works in upstate NewYork.
